SKIN CANCER RISKS AT THE NAIL SALON???

Dr. Neal Shultz (founder of www.DermTV.com) has discovered that salon UV nail dryers can be just as harmful to our skin as a tanning bed! Hard to believe but surprisingly, these popular quick drying machines have researchers linking the UV rays to a steady rise in FINGER CANCERS! After all, the machines rely on their UV light to bond and dry nail color and this is the very same UV light that has already been proven to be dangerous to our skin in other forms. Dr. Schultz suggests that we girls steer clear of these machines all together. Shultz says "reports of unusual numbers of skin cancers on the fingers of frequent users are compelling reasons to avoid them until controlled peer review studies can demonstrate safe parameters for their use if they even exist." So the next time you visit your favorite salon and are confronted with a drying option, it might be a good idea to say "NO" to the machine and, instead, opt for just the fan or put on some nail oil and wait a little longer for your nails to dry.
